Milwaukee Sawzall 6509-31

Milwaukee has introduced a couple nice saws to their line up including the 6519-31.  This is another reciprocating saw they have introduced, the Sawzall 6509-31. In fact this looks and has all the same features except this one has a 3/4″ stroke length instead of 1-1/8″.  Milwaukee still utilizes the same Quick-Lok feature which I am a huge fan of.  Just insert the blade and you you don’t have to worry about it braking free or binding up in the tool.  This Sawzall is also a 12 amp motor with 0-3,000 strokes per minute that is controlled by a variable speed trigger.  As you can see by the picture above, there is a nice over molded grip, so even with gloves on, you have complete control over the saw.  Milwaukee did redesign the front for a better fit.  We have not tested this saw, but if its better than the other, were a fan.  The older grip is still great, but who can’t improve on something.

Milwaukee has a gear protecting clutch in place to extend the life of the gear and motor by absorbing the impacts caused by blade lock up.  Another feature I love about Milwaukee is the counter weight mechanism.  This is a feature that does truly works, as I have used it in some of their other saws.  Basically this counter system reduces vibrations for a smoother operation.  Since the saw does move back and forth, any extra energy that is not transferred to the blade falls on the users hands.  If you have used a reciprocating saw in the past then you know what it feels like when you turn off a saw and your hands feel tingly.

The length of the saw is 19″ and weighs 7.1 lbs.  There is no adjustable shoe or speed dial, but it does include a carrying case to protect your saw when not in use.
