Milwaukee’s Sawzall – The Hatchet Reciprocating Saw is a revolutionary, versatile, compact and durable tool. This saw is very versatile, with a 6-position pivoting handle that adjusts to any cutting task. It is very compact, the Hatchet is only 13.5″ long from the back of the handle to the front of the shoe, making it easy to fit between joists and studs. The Milwaukee Hatchet has a designed and built motor that provides consistantly superior performance and long life. Its orbital action makes for fast wood cutting, at 0-3000 SPM. Also, for fast metal cutting, it can be used in the straight reciprocating mode and 0-3000 SPM to cut conduit, unistrut, and pipe.

The Milwaukee 6524-21 Hatchet has a counter balanced mechanism, which reduces vibration. The durable crankshaft reciprocating mechanism withstands abrupt stalls and abusive job-site applications. The double-walled pivoting-handle detents provide a strong pivoting mechanism. There is a metal cam lock that provides a firm hold in each pivoting position.  Like other Sawzalls, the steel keyless QUIK-LOK BLADE CLAMP enables for fast, easy blade changes. The tool also comes with a soft-grip handle pad, an all metal gearcase, keyless adjustable pivoting shoe, and a orbital; action selector switch.

The Hatchet weighs 6.7 lbs. It does 0-3000 strokes per minute, 3/4 in. stroke lenght. It has 7.5 amp motor and a gear protecting clutch. It comes double insulated and uses standard 1/2 in. tang reciprocating saw blades. Also comes with a resistant carrying case.

The highlight of this tool is that it is great for tight spots! Examples of its use could be cutting pipe between joists or studs and under counter tops, installing roof vents, drywall removal and cutouts for outlets and switches, and much more. The Milwaukee “The Hatchet” Sawzall is one neat tool.
